Ran by Garrett Carroll New York City Art Documentation (NYCAD) is a photo studio based in Long Island City / Sunnyside Queens with capabilities to photographed on-location artworks, as well as the option for in-studio. NYCAD specializes in the reproduction and documentation of paintings, sculpture, objects, mixed media, and gallery installations, delivering professional, high-quality images tailored for both print medias and online uses.
For the past 4 years Garrett has built a career working with individual artists to document paintings, sculptures and gallery installations, blending technical expertise with a passion for the art world. With over 10 years of experience in fine art printing there is a strong appreciation for detail, color, and precision within each photograph.
The photo studio is conveniently located in Long Island City off of the 33rd stop of the 7 train and near Long island, Queens, and Brooklyn expressways. If your artworks are too fragile or large to be moved, I can come to your studio to photograph on-site for an additional expense.
Artworks are captured using a 102 megapixel camera, producing images at resolutions as high as 8735×11648 pixels. With professional post-production, color correction and accurate lighting each photo aims to have a naturalistic result. Files are also backed up for free in both high-res TIFF and JPEG formats in a case you were to ever lose your files.
